Indian Lake District Master Plan

In Summer 2024, Creative Studio Architects was engaged to develop a long-term vision, framework plan, and design for a mixed-use district adjacent to Indian Lake. As part of the process, CSA worked closely with the Owner to define the future vision for this iconic landmark, and to establish a series of planning and design principles to guide coordinated decision-making over the project’s development horizon.

  • Developed to advance the quality and vibrancy of Indian Lake, a new mixed-use district was envisioned as a new destination for commercial, hospitality, and entertainment. This plan includes public realm improvements to enhance the quality of the space, making it a new community hub.

The community has been working to recover since a devastating tornado tragically struck the area. To help with the recovery, Creative Studio Architects collaborated with the development team to incorporate several key public improvements: a new public amphitheater, a merry-go-round, and other lakeside amenities. These additions are designed to improve the quality of life for residents most affected by the disaster.

This new district will be a catalyst for the local economy, blending a curated mix of businesses with public spaces and a new rooftop hotel and event venue to attract more visitors to the region. The project is designed to be a regional draw, revitalizing this natural asset and bringing new life back to Indian Lake.
